FIRSt has moved into a new state-of-the art facility at 215 King Street East. The expanded footprint and new equipment will greatly enhance our capability to assist in SME food and beverage product development and innovation, including company incubation, product launch into GTA markets, and commercialization support.

FIRSt’s facilities were formerly currently located at 300 Adelaide Street East in the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (CHCA). FIRST’s workspace includes a full working kitchen, a prototyping area and a food testing laboratory. The kitchen space is used for recipe development, product demonstrations, technical training sessions and sensory evaluations. The lab space is equipped with standard food product quality testing apparatus (pH, brix, weight, temperature, Aw, consistency, colour) and specialized food analysis equipment (texture meter, accelerated shelf life oven, viscometer, colorimeter, carbonator).
